Ice Cube Wants to Make a Fourth ‘Friday’ Movie Called ‘Last Friday’

It’s been 20 years since the release of the stoner classic Friday and while Ice Cube was making the rounds in support of the Fathom Events screening on 4/20 of the cult film, he told The Wrap in an interview that he’d like to return and make a fourth film in the franchise.

“That’s my dream,” says Ice Cube. “I think all the parties involved, all the people that’s been in the franchise, people from the first one to the third one, want to do another one.”

The film would be titled Last Friday, according to Ice Cube, “because it might end up being the last one.”

As for what’s holding up the film if all collaborators are game, Ice Cube comments, “It’s really up to the movie companies to step up. When they see stuff like this, they’ll realize how much people love this movie. Sometimes you owe it to the fans to do what the fans want. I hope they step up.”

Now might actually be a good time for Ice Cube to push the project, with his name involved in another high-profile project, about his own origins as part of N.W.A. and gangsta rap in the Straight Outta Compton movie.
