P Diddy has been arrested and charged for allegedly attacking a sports coach at his son’s university.
The rapper has been charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon after he reportedly picked up a kettlebell and swung it at the coach during an altercation at the university.
He narrowly missed the man and both were unharmed.
The 45-year-old is said to have confronted the coach after he was seen to be being particularly hard on his son, Justin Combs.
The rapper regularly watches his son train and play at the university in LA and on this occasion was reportedly angered by the coach’s harsh treatment of his son, which saw the coach ‘screaming intensely’ at Justin.
P Diddy – AKA Sean Combs – allegedly confronted the coach in his office, which is where the argument got heated.
Sources close to Sean, however, have since claimed he held up the weight in self defence rather than using it as a weapon, according to TMZ.
The rapper has yet to release a statement, but UCLA football coach Jim Morahad has said: ‘I’m thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation.
‘This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.’
